I’m leaving my heart in San Francisco

You know when you think of something and you KNOW you know you’re right but then you second guess yourself? Yeah, I was totally thinking, “hey there’s a song about San Francisco… I think it’s called ‘I left my heart in San Francisco’. ” And then all day I was telling myself, “no, you dummy, it HAS to be a different city!” But then, wikipedia confirmed that my nonsensical ramblings were correct in the first place. There is a song called “I Left my Heart in San Francisco” and it is sung by Mr Tony Bennett (in 1962).

Why all this talk about San Francisco you ask? Because I’m going there next week for A WHOLE WEEK! FOR FREE (sorta). I’m going for “business”. Basically I was like, “yo! I need to go to this planning session for my team!” and my manager was like, “fine, but you gotta give a presentation and make the trip worth it for me to pay for you to go.” and then I was like, “cool.”

Sorry for the awful grammar and re-telling of the story. That’s the gist of how it went down. I am super excited to be a part of this trip not only for my professional development, but also because I believe there will be a fair amount of free time for me to explore all the Bay area has to offer.

So hit me with all the recommendations you got! I want sushi and dim sum and In-N-Out Burger. I want to do touristy things and hit up neighborhood spots. I’m planning an Alcatraz excursion and the team is going to a minor league baseball game.

Apparently North Cali thinks it’s October (by DC standards). It is COLD there. And by cold, I mean mid 50s to 60s if I’m lucky. I guess I have to break out my winter-wear a tad early this year.

I’ll be back next week with lots of pics and fun stories. I’m traveling with a co-worker friend so I’m sure to have a good time.

Keep up with me on Twitter and Facebook. I’m sure I’ll be posting lots while I’m there.
