oy vey. Where do I begin? The beginning? Here we go:

(maybe a list is best, I apologize)

1. Friday: Worked from home because I was still recovering a head cold that I refuse to let invade my body. I organized like a mo-fo and prepped my casa for mis amigas. After work I met up with my JMU ladies at Jazz in the Sculpture Garden. This was the first time I actually heard the Jazz. When Jazz was finished and we were feeling good from the wine that we didn’t illegally smuggle into the and garden we hopped on the metro and the ladies got to see my new place! I made a late dinner and we hung out until way too damn late. After I kicked my friends out I passed out. (That whole being sick thing isn’t so much fun.)

2. Saturday Day: I went to the DMV like an idiot on Saturday morning. I literally thought to myself, it’s such a nice day, everyone will be outside! WRONG. and oh how wrong I was. I waited for 3.5 hours to get my DC license. (Why yes I have lived in DC for over a year and never got a new license) Now I’m just waiting to get called for jury duty. Sigh.

After I emerged from the Georgetown mall, very zombie like as I had only ingested half a croissant since 11am and it was now 3:30, I waited for the Circulator to take me closer to the red line. The Circulator laughed in my face and I walked to Foggy Bottom after standing next to a group of tourists for 15 mins. At least those tourists weren’t there for the Glenn Beck mayhem. I get down to Foggy Bottom and you would have thought the Cherry Blossoms bloomed again! All I wanted was to get farther into the city, not leave it and retreat back to my country home that is way farther out than Vienna.

Luckily a very nice young boy told me that if I asked the cop I could actually make my way down to the platform instead of having to stare at a bunch old weirdos who looked incredulous that I didn’t know why they were taking over my city.

3. Saturday night: I traveled back out on the metro to Ballston to hang out with my JMU ladies again. This time we had wine night! Oh la la! My amigas Alicia and Whitney whipped up some faboosh spanish tapas and sangria. I had so much fun talking and hanging out that I lost my voice. My voice is still hoarse and my manager was like, “Wait, you’re still recovering from Saturday?” Yes, dear sir. When you have as much fun as I, sometimes we must sacrifice our voice.

4. Sunday: Momma G came over to give me some more househould items that I needed, such as a blender and swiffer vacuum! We went out for lunch and then she dropped me off at my sushi making class. I made some sushi with some other ladies and it was fun but not as exciting as I thought. I am definitely going to put my new skillz to work though the next time I host wine club. Get excited ladies… sushi! (But don’t worry, I won’t make us drink Saki the whole night)

And now I recover. I’m embarking on a new diet/ journey. I’m excited to share this with you and will put all my thoughts down this evening. All I can say now is thank you Elizabeth Gilbert, I no longer feel weird having conversations with my heart and my body about how they should behave.

Until next time…
